NAME OF EVENT:  PICNIC’23

DAY/DATE OF EVENT: MONDAY, May 29, 2023

TIME OF EVENT: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

VENUE: DREAMWORLD RESORT, KARACHI.

On 29^th May 2023, ZUFESTM Student Council organized a picnic for the students. This event was held under the leadership and efforts of the Patron Engr. Ashfaque Ahmed, Executive body and other council members.

After a hectic and tiring weeks of final semester examinations, students had a quality time in the Dreamworld’s waterpark and had a delicious lunch. The services included several water activities such as artificial sea, aqua fun plaza, giant slide, four lane multi slides, water mushroom showers, boating lake. It included special ladies’ spa in which Jacuzzi, steam bath, bubble jet, large crown jet, aqua Briella and many other activities were included. For the games and sports mini golf, archery, horse riding, bowling and 18-hole golf course was present.

Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, ZUFESTM hosted a training session on “Hyper-Converged Infrastructure Platform (HCI)” on Friday, 5^th May 2023.

In training, we were able to see how effectively VMware and Dell EMC have combined software and hardware. This empowers them to offer a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) in what feels like a machine. We can manage storage, networking, and compute with vCenter. It was easy to see the significant advantages it has over the predecessor. A more convenient and streamlined option.

At the end we could say, the solution provided is a comprehensive Hyper Converged / SDDC solution that utilizes various VMware software such as NSX, vSAN, vSphere, vCenter, and VxRail Manager. With these tools, users can perform a wide range of tasks similar to what can be achieved on VMware on AWS.

Department of Management Technology & Information Science has organized a Guest Speaker Session for their BBA 3rd Semester Students on the Topic: “New Venture Creation Under Social Entrepreneurship” conducted by “Mr. Zeryab Naseer”, Assistant Director HR., Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

Feb 27, 2023: “FYP Proposal Defense 2023 – Computer Science & Software Engineering Department” was held at Ziauddin University North Campus.

Our Batch 2019 of BSSE and BSDS students working in teams, presented their FYPs Proposal. A coterie of faculty and academia was invited to evaluate the projects as esteemed judges.

Chairman of Computer Science & Software Engineering Department, Dr. Sheikh Munaf Rashid, who remained present extensively, expressed satisfaction and confidence in students’ quality of work.

Department of Management Technology & Information Science has organized a “Webinar” Session for their BBA Students on the Topic: “HOW TO CONDUCT FINAL YEAR PROJECT (FYP) SUCCESSFULLY” conducted by”DR. NOR AZIATI BINTII ABDUL HAMID” Associate Professor from UTHM Malaysia.

NAME OF EVENT: HSE Awareness Session

DATE OF EVENT: 15th February 2023

TIME OF EVENT: 11:00 AM – 01:00 PM

VENUE: Ziauddin University North Nazimabad Campus

COLLABORATION: IEEE Ziauddin University Student Branch and IEEE YP Karachi Section. 

IEEE ZU student branch in collaboration with IEEE YP Karachi section organized a seminar on HSE AWARENESS SESSION, which was powered by K-Electric, to celebrate the Safety week. The total number of students that attendant the seminar was 45. Furthermore, around ten (10) faculty members from the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering also attended the session. The Head of Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Irfan Zia also attended the seminar.

Mr. Yasir Tanveer, Manager CHSEQ Distribution, conducted the seminar, while the hands-on practice was conducted by Mr. Shams. The main focus of the workshop was to educate attendees on how to use different types of fire extinguishers and the importance of workplace safety.

At the end, Chairperson, Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Zia presented souvenirs to the speakers as a token of appreciation for their informative session on workplace safety and the use of different types of fire extinguishers.
