REPORT ON DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES (AUGUST, 2021) DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
Activity 01:
Departmental OBE Discussion
As per practice, departmental OBE discussion was held on 5th August, 2021 with the consent of Chairperson followed by OBE team. Departmental Coordinator, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz discussed about the Program Learning Outcomes against BE Civil Engineering and BS Civil Technology programs for executed Spring 2021 session to concerns.

Activity 02:
Admission Discussion by Chairperson
In order to have smooth implementation plan for admission procurement of Fall 2021 session, a meeting was organized by Chairperson, Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri amongst the faculty members on 16th August, 2021. Individual faculty members were assigned with the specific tasks including admission calls, online interviews, data record keeping and similar works.

Activity 03:
Preparation of SAR, BS Civil Technology Program
During this month, a complete and prescribed Self-Assessment Report has been developed by Department of Civil Engineering covering all import academic and administrative aspects of department and Evening program. The report is produced with the entire efforts and team work of department followed by Chairperson, Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri and Incharge Evening Programs, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz. The report shall be submitted to statutory bodies for onward processing.
Activity 04:
Online Webinar for New Comers, Fall 2021 Batch, Civil Engineering and Technology
An online informative webinar was organized by Chairperson, Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri on 26th August, 2021 for freshers or upcoming batch Fall 2021. This session is dedicated only to get aware the students with the admission procedures in BE Civil Engineering and BS Civil Technology programs. Furthermore, the students took great interest in seeking pertinent information and inquiries from presenter about relevant field. This type of practice ensures about the increase in admissions for departmental programs.

Activity 05:
Faculty Meeting for PEC Accreditation Visit
In continuation with the earlier meetings, another faculty meeting to further rectify the assignments of faculty and staff members was scheduled on 26th August, 2021. Chairperson demonstrated about the evaluation criteria of accreditation board while it was also informed that OBE based accreditation visit is planned on 1st and 2nd September, 2021.

Activity 06:
Mock Visit, Civil Engineering
Dean ZUFESTM, Dr. Fahad Azim with his entire team executed a Mock visit against upcoming PEC accreditation visit for Department of Civil Engineering on 31st August, 2021. The visit is planned in a similar fashion to plant the exact scenarios of PEC team however suggestions were also put forwarded by the team in front of Chairperson.
Activity 07:
CPD Activity Organized by Department of Civil Engineering
On 31st August, 2021, an online CPD activity was proposed by Department of Civil Engineering entitling “Traffic Accidents and Road Safety Engineering”. The instructor from the department was Assistant Professor, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz (PE). The technical course was based on the emerging areas of Traffic and Transportation Engineering with practical exposure of intervention strategies. Faculty members from entire ZUFESTM had actively participated in the session.
