REPORT ON DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES (APRIL, 2021) DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

Activity 01:

Institutional Performance Evaluation Visit, Clifton Campus, Ziauddin University

On 30^th March, 2021, Institutional Performance Evaluation Visit was conducted in the Clifton Campus of Ziauddin University by expert members and competent authorities. Chairperson Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri and Assistant Professor Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz actively participated in the Evaluation Visit as representatives from Department of Civil Engineering. Concerned academic and administrative documents of department were presented in front of the panel for further recommendations and guidelines.

Activity 02:

PCATP Virtual Zero Visit, Architecture, ZUFESTM

The Virtual Zero Visit of PCATP was held on 1^st April, 2021. Dean ZUFESTM Dr. Fahad Azim participated in the meeting along with Faculty of Architecture. The meeting was executed to get approval of PCATP in order to launch B. Arch. Program at Link Road Campus of Ziauddin University. PCATP Team of Inspectors presented their observations and comments after the presentation given by Dr. Samia Tariq and mutual discussion.

Activity 03:

Projects Display, Department of Civil Engineering, ZUFESTM

On 2^nd April, 2021, Lecturer Mushtaque Ali and Lab. Engineer Asjad Alam organized the projects display session for respective Civil Engineering students. Chairperson Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri and other faculty members of Department attended the session actively. Students explored their work to the Faculty followed by the queries of participants. Faculty members presented their reviews about the projects along with the suggestions for further improvements.

Activity 04:

Conduction of Final Exams and Lab Vivas (Fall 2020), Civil Engineering and Civil Technology Programs, ZUFESTM

The Final Examinations and Lab Vivas of Civil Engineering and Technology programs (Fall 2020) were successfully accomplished during the month of April, 2021 at Link Road and North Campus respectively in accordance with COVID-19 SOPs. The students and teachers maintained separation with each other to ensure social distancing during the examinations. Individuals sitting in examination rooms were bound to wear personal protective equipment, such as appropriate masks, and avoid overcrowding all around

Activity 05:

Final Year Project (FYP) Mid Presentations, Batch I Civil Engineering, ZUFESTM

Convener FYP Committee Dr. Samia Tariq and Secretary Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz organized FYP Presentations for Batch I Civil Engineering Students on 15^th and 16^th April, 2021. Chairperson Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri, committee members and deputed observant(s) reviewed the progress of students and shared suggestions with them for final execution and report submission.
