Ziauddin University has taken initiative to propose online courses for faculty in collaboration with platforms like Coursera/ Edx. In this connection and as advised by Chairperson, faculty members from Civil Engineering Department has actively enrolled in respective available courses in order to further enhance their knowledge and technical skills. The participants who have completed their courses from Department till now are Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri, Dr. Samia Tariq, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz, Engr. Muhammad Kamran and Engr. Wajahat Ali however rest of the faculty are in process to receive their certificates gradually with completion.

Department of Civil Engineering, ZUFESTM has organized 4^th BoS (Online) on 9^th June 2020 with full cooperation of BoS and expert members. Convener/ Chairperson, Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri and Secretary/ Assistant Professor, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz presented important agendas of department in the context of morning and evening bachelors programs however members agreed upon on all agendas of meeting. Further the minutes were submitted for approval from 8^th BOF ZUFESTM.

For fulfillment of semester requirements, online examinations in department are conducted during this month as prescribed by competent authority within certain specific guidelines. Arrangement of viva examination is also planned to quantify the assessment of laboratory-based subjects.

In order to complete respective courses in specified semesters of Fall 2019, online classes were conducted successfully as prescribed by competent authority. All subjects are covered during online classes of 5 running semesters in Civil Engineering and Technology programs followed by concerned course instructors. Apart from that, course syllabi have been completed in lines with the submitted course files. Standard Google Meet forum is utilized for conduction of online classes as recommended by University officials.

Chairperson Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri chaired a departmental meeting on 11^th June 2020 in order to mitigate and sort out different matters of department. Faculty members participated in meeting with full SOPs while the agenda items were related to course assignments Fall 2019/ Spring 2020 semesters, admissions Fall 2020, departmental research work and associated indigenous activities etc.

Students of Dr. Ziauddin Intermediate College visited Link Road campus on 19^th February, 2020. The purpose for this trip is to encourage students for further studies in available disciplines of ZUFEST. While visiting Civil Engineering Department, Acting Chairperson Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri and Departmental Coordinator, Engr. Khawaja Sheeraz motivated students for Civil Engineering profession by showing them advanced equipment in Civil Engineering laboratories. Visitors from college were also glad with this activity.

In order to have better learning and practical exposure, students of Civil Engineering Department once again visited the under constructed Pharmacy building at Link road campus (Sardar Yaseen Malik Block) on 13^th February, 2020 followed by Lecturer and Lab Engineers of Department. Students of respective batches had educated in relevant domains of Concreting and Slab Pouring on particular site.

Selected students of Civil Engineering Department had participated in ZCL, 2020 on 5^th February, 2020 under the guidance of Lab Engineers, Engr. Wajahat Ali and Engr. Jahanzaib Sherani. Civil Engineering Runner-up team played very well at all during contest.

Departmental meeting by Acting Chairperson, Engr. Syed Faraz Jafri with all faculty members was organized on 29^th January, 2020. The agenda of meeting was the discussion on complete preparations of PEC Interim Visit which is scheduled on 11^th February, 2020. Tasks were assigned to all faculty members in said meeting by Chairperson.
